Question

How long is the drive to Ellicottville, NY from Connecticut?

Answer

Depending on the route you take and your ability to abide by posted speed limits, it's about a 6.5 hour drive. If you decide to drive, we would recommend making the trip with a friend and trading driving responsibilities. You can trade off in Johnson City, NY (assuming you take Rt 86) and take advantage of the gas stations and restaurants in the area. It also happens to be located approximately halfway between Connecticut and Ellicottville, NY.

Question

How far is the airport (Buffalo-Niagara International Airport)?

Answer

It is an hour away from Ellicottville, NY. If you plan on flying to Buffalo, we suggest that you rent a car with other people flying in, or you can Uber to Ellicottville for about $80.00. Once you get to Ellicottville, pretty much everything that you'll need is within a 2 mile radius.

Question

Where should we stay/Which hotel should we stay at?

Answer

Both of the hotels at which we have reserved blocks of rooms--the Inn at Holiday Valley and the Tamarack Club--are part of the Holiday Valley Resort. You can't go wrong booking a room at either location. They are both a short walk from the building where the reception will be held. There are also alternative rooming options in the area (other hotels, Airbnbs, condos for rent) that are just as good as the Holiday Valley Resort.

Question

How far is Niagara Falls from where we'll be?

Answer

Niagara Falls, NY is about an hour and 20 minutes away from the Holiday Valley Resort. If you're coming in from out of town and have never been, we suggest you pack your passport and head over the border to Niagara Falls, Ontario!

Question

Are children invited?

Answer

Nope! Children are more than welcome to attend the ceremony, but it is an adult only reception.

Question

What is the dress code?

Answer

Semi-formal: Suits and cocktail dresses welcome.

Question

Will there be shuttles?

Answer

Yes! The Tamarack Club is the building next to the Lodge, where the ceremony and reception will be, but there will be a shuttle from the Inn to the Lodge. There will also be a shuttle to/from town after the reception to keep the party going!

Question

Will parking be available?

Answer

Yes! Sort of. The church for the ceremony has limited parking, so we suggest taking the shuttle from either the Inn or the Tamarack Club. There will be plenty of parking at the Lodge, but again, we have shuttles and it's an open bar - so catch a ride!

Question

Where are you registered?

Answer

Everything we have registered for can be found on our Zola website. Use the ’Registry' link above.

Question

What if I have a dietary restriction?

Answer

Please let us know! Holiday Valley will be able to accommodate you.

Question

Will you be postponing your wedding because of COVID-19?

Answer

Yes. We have already updated the dates on the website. As you can see, our wedding will be postponed until next year when everyone can attend safely and without fear of catching the coronavirus. Our new date is September 5, 2021, and we will be sending out change-the-dates shortly. We apologize for any inconvenience this may cause. Everyone stay safe and healthy until next year when we can all celebrate together! If you already booked a room at one of the two hotels where we have room blocks, the hotels should be reaching out to you to reschedule your stays. If they do not reach out to you within the next two weeks, please feel free to reach out to the hotels (they explained that they are currently very busy rescheduling multiple weddings, and while they do their best, some things may fall through the cracks).
