Ali and Jill met up with some friends at Sullivan's Tap in Boston before the Eric Church concert at the Garden. After she and Joe were introduced to each other nineteen times (and were served a round of double fireball shots), they hit it off. They strolled hand-in-hand to the concert and don't remember much of the show from the back row of section 312, but they do remember sneaking a few kisses and Joe reassuring Jill, "I'm not an a**hole!" They texted the whole way home, mostly about how upset Ali was that Taco Bell, Wendy's, McDonalds, and Burger King were all closed, and Joe very smoothly asked if he could take her out for a proper dinner later that weekend. Obviously, she said yes.
Ali and Joe went to the Patriots game on New Years Eve, better known as the coldest regular season game in history at Gillette Stadium. During halftime, Joe asked Ali if she remembered what he said to her the last time they were there. She (thinks) she responded, "That you loved me?" (After a practice at Gillette nearly two years before he had said "I love you" for the first time...that's another story!) Anyway, then he said something like, "Since that day I couldn't wait to tell you that I want to love you for the rest of my life," or so she's heard because she blacked out/her ears were ringing/she was frozen solid. He got down on one knee in the snow, and asked Ali to marry him (!!!) Her tears froze instantly and they laughed and cried and hugged and jumped up and down on the Jumbotron (thanks, Kate!) showing off the new bling. And somewhere during this whole exchange, she again, said YES.
