Marge's Still
The oldest continually running tavern in Chicago (since 1885! - fans of Pete's Tavern will be unphased by this claim to fame). According to the bar's website, bathtub gin was prepared on the second floor and sold in the cellar, with guests entering through the side stairwell. This bar is walking distance from the church, making it the perfect pit stop before the reception, which is about a 10-minute walk from Marge's
Wendella Architectural Boat Tour
One of the best ways to experience Chicago. Ambitious guests who want to fill the 2p-5p void between the ceremony and the reception have two tours to choose from: Chicago River Experience (2:45-3:30) and Lake & River Architecture Tour (3:00-4:30).
Lincoln Park Zoo
By far the biggest value (free) and closest to the reception venue (Cafe Brauer is located on the zoo grounds). LPZ is about a 15-20 minute walk from the church.
Hotel Lincoln
This hotel's rooftop views are one of the best in the city. It's also equidistant from the ceremony and the reception venues (about a 10-min walk each way).
The VIG Chicago
Great indoor spot for bites and sips between the ceremony and reception if the weather is uncooperative. This bar is about a 15-minute walk to Cafe Brauer and a 10-minute walk from the church.
Cafe Brauer
The reception location has a cute outdoor cafe that serves tasty margs and light appetizers. Cafe Brauer is about a 15-20 minute walk from the church.
