Question

Elephant in the Room: COVID policy

Answer

While we are not requiring masks, we do ask that you strongly consider them for all inside events. We have waited over 2 years for this celebration, and really want to do our part to keep everyone safe and stress free! The ceremony will be outside , and the reception is inside/outside. Masks will be provided in case you forget one! We will have children in the wedding party and immunocompromised individuals, so we please ask that you respect all boundaries and comfort levels. The less Covid talk the better for all 🥰 Please be prepared to wear a mask in most all inside restaurants, shops etc. This is a small tourist town with lots of hardworking employees. Mask mandates ARE currently in place, but you can check here for updates! https://www.tetoncountywy.gov/163/Health-Dept Lastly, if you are feeling sick, there are places to be tested in town before you attend any events. Thank you so much!!!

Question

What Should I Pack

Answer

Layers are the key player here! Check the weather right before you leave for most accurate forecast and packing adjustments. Keep in mind in the mountains we can have a windy downpour and then bright sunny skies & 20 degrees warmer in a very short time frame, hence the importance of layers :) -Nights will get chilly in the fall, so a few sweaters and one reliable jacket ( think a light puffy) -Rain/wind jacket (don't go hiking without it!) - Tennis shoes/ hiking boots or both. -Cocktail dress for wedding w appropriate jacket/sweater -hiking clothes and casual wear for outside -a good hat and sunscreen! - your favorite Nalgene! I can't stress hydrating enough.

Question

Should I Be worried about the elevation change

Answer

If you are new to visiting the home of the Tetons, you need to be easy on yourself. Start hydrating before you get here and always have water with you. I would suggest buying some Nasal spray to combat drier air, and don't panic if you wake up with a dry stuffy nose, most likely acclimation. With that said, dry/high air makes you more prone to sunburn, so keep a hat handy and sunscreen. Don't let overcast skies fool you. In terms of hydration, if you are feeling it, you can pick up some altitude meds at the grocery store or one of these https://acli-mate.com/where-to-buy-acli-mate/ ALCOHOL- 1 drink= 2 drinks..... until you have been here for at least 3 days. Party accordingly ;)

Question

More Ideas for Adventuring :)

Answer

1. Hiking in Grand Teton National Park. Check with a ranger for age/ duration appropriate hikes. I love Jenny Lake and Phelps Lake, but DO NOT forget bear spray. Ask a ranger how to use it if you are concerned! 2.Day Trip to Yellowstone National Park! 3. Book a river float or Fishing Trip ( water level dependent) at Triangle X Ranch or High Alpine Anglers 4. Walk off your hangover at the Elk Refuge just outside of town , or rent a bike /e-bike and hop on any of our trailways! 5. Snow King or Jackson Hole mountain resort for some in town hiking and adventure parks

Question

Answer

1. Pearl Street Bagels for quick to go breakfast 2. Cowboy Coffee or Jackson Hole Roasters for coffee 3. CocoLove for chocolates 4. Thai Plate for $10 lunch special 5. Creekside Marketplace for the world's best sandwiches and lunches to go for a day in the park :) 6. The Bistro for a fun French dinner and apps in town 7. Snake River Grill for a very fancy night out on the town 8. Coelette for in town dinner 9. Calico for laid back dinner with awesome brews and drinks near Teton Village. 10. Stillwest or Snake River Brewing for beers and bar food 11. Dornans for lunch after a hike in the park! Order the Moosebread and a huckleberry lemonade (hint no moose involved)

Question

Safe Wildlife Viewing and The Importance of Bear Spray

Answer

Quick Tips: -It is exciting to see bear, moose, bison, antelope while on vacation, but please pull all the way off the road ( 4 tires off the road) for the traffic flow and safety of the animals. -25 feet away minimum. People will always have their cameras out and you might end up on a website for what not to do, or worse, get fined -Please drive the speed limit and even slower at night. We have some very beloved bears who are currently on walkabout near the roads. Link below :) - Moose are very dangerous, and very quick. -If you come across an animal by accident, do not panic. The best thing to do is remain calm and not startle the animal.
