Before We Knew

Younger Years

As we attended the same High School, ours paths crossed, but never knew each other. Years went by and paths crossed again. Almost 8 years later, God intended for our paths to line up. Jody asked me to coffee. We ended up having dinner, and he didn't go wrong picking Mexican food! My thoughts going into the date was to just be myself and have fun. When I saw Jody, he got out of his truck with glow sticks, to "break the ice". His humor and cheesiness was settle, and it didn't help me that he was also so easy on the eyes. At one point of the dinner, I thought to myself, "what if I'm sitting across the table from my husband.." We started holding up our waitress with how long we were there talking. We decided to move from dinner and continue to an arcade and movie. We just knew then, that there was something special.

Dating

08-15-2018

August of 2018, we began our journey learning and loving each other. Most couples go through a honeymoon stage at the beginning of their journey. Our beginning was a little out of our hands. With life alternating events and surgery in September, we finally got to enjoy each other more in October. From cheesy crafts, letters, to Mexican wrestling masks, our love evolved fast. When I met the kids, it was game over.

A Year Later

08-28-2019

Our love grew. We had another little boy to add to our family. I saw a side of Jody I never seen before. My love for him grew when I saw him love our little boy.

The Proposal

02-18-2020

Jody is known for wanting to start grilling his steaks when he knows I'm in route to the house.. This day didn't seem different from others, he called me often, on my way home to see how far I was. (it never clicked to me because this was his routine). I entered the front door with Elijah, candles were light from the front door curving into the living room. (Not a fan of the song before this day...but I was that day on). " In case you didn't know " - Brett Young, was playing as soon as I walked in the door. Jody was down on one knee in front of the fireplace. Cowboy hat, button up, and fresh dark jeans. I was in such shock I just kept saying yes and hugged and kissed him. He had his steak dinner waiting on the kitchen table for me. The proposal was every kind of perfect.
