Yes! There are plenty of Airbnbs close to where the ceremony and reception will be held!
Guests are welcome to drive to the ceremony and to the reception location which is approx 15km apart. If you'd prefer not to drive, we have rented transportation. A bus will be picking up guests at the reception location where they may leave their vehicles for the evening. The bus will then take guests back to the reception location following the ceremony. There will be plenty of parking at the reception venue to leave your vehicle for the evening and plenty of cabs in the evening. No drinking and driving please!
If you're looking for a selection of places to eat and things to do in the evenings, then staying in Sydney would likely be best for you. Sydney is about a 20-25 minute drive from North Sydney (where the wedding is taking place). Comparable to driving from Calgary to Airdrie. If you prefer to stay in North Sydney for the convenience of being close to the wedding venue, you could always visit Sydney during your stay or choose to stay there and simply travel to North Sydney for the wedding! If you plan to stay in North Sydney, the Clansman (although dated) is walkable to the reception. They also have small cabins if you planned to buddy up with friends, etc. Hotel North is only minutes away, recently renovated and is offering a discounted rate for our guests! Ideally, staying close to the wedding for 1-2 nights and then heading off to explore the island would make for a great trip!
We would recommend a rental car as it is a very small town and public transportation is limited. THEY BOOK UP FAST! So, if you plan to book a rental car we would suggest you book one sooner than later! There are cabs of course but there are no ubers and depending where you stay, walking most likely will not be an option.
Sydney, Nova Scotia. The wedding is about 40 min from the airport which is why it’s recommended that you rent a vehicle upon arrival. The other option is to fly into Halifax, Nova Scotia and drive to Cape Breton which is about a 4.5 hour drive. Halifax is a fun city with lots to see and do so, perhaps you may want to make a trip out of it and spend some time there as well :)
