Michael and Jodie began their relationship with an expiration date. With Jodie moving north to Chicago and Michael heading south to Louisville, they agreed that long distance relationships never work out. What was meant to be a short summer together before going their separate ways for school turned into 4 years of overnight bus rides, Skype dates, and seemingly endless countdowns until they got to see each other again. In case it wasn't obvious, sometimes long distance relationships do work out.
Since she was little, Jodie has always loved New York. In December of 2014, she was able to show it to Michael for the first time, and he fell in love with it the same way she did. So, when he began planning the proposal, there was nowhere else it could be. Up until the night before their flight, Jodie was conviced she was taking a few days off work to visit her friends in Chicago. Little did she know the next day she would be standing on the Brooklyn Promenade while Michael asked, "Do you wanna get married?"
Jodie and Michael will be celebrating their relationship among their favorite things: friends, family and beer. They will tie the knot at Mother of God parish in Covington and cross the river for the after party at Rhinegeist brewery. And they'll live hoppily ever after.
