It all began with 1 Corinthians 13:4-8. Blayne made a simple Facebook post speaking the beauty of this verse and I "liked" it. Who would have ever thought that something as simple as that would have been the start of a love story as great as ours? We met shortly after and had an instant connection. I never thought that I would believe in love at first sight, but one thing is for sure, we both knew the moment we met one another that it was different. It was beautiful. It was the start of forever with a man that is truly patient, a man that is kind, a man that does not envy, boast, nor is proud. A man that does not dishonor, and is not self-seeking. A man who is not easily angered or keeps a record of wrongs. I fell in love with a man that embodied everything that Corinthians is.
What a day this was! As some of you know, I started as the Assistant Director of Little Oaks Preschool earlier this year. Little Oaks is a Christian based preschool in Monroe, Georgia that is on the same grounds as Grace Monroe Church. I felt like this opportunity alone was an answered blessing for Blayne and I. Little did I know, Blayne would soon make this space even more special. On April 27, 2021, Blayne called me as I was driving home. He told me that he was in Monroe and asked if I could meet him at the school so he could finally see the space. I was tired from working all day and did not want to make the hour commute to show him the school that particular night, but he insisted. As tired as I was, I turned my car around and drove to Monroe to meet him. As I am showing him the campus, we passed the church's main sanctuary. Right then, he stopped in his tracks. In front of the cross, he began to spill his heart to me and proceeded to get down on one knee. It was the happiest moment I have ever known. In that moment I felt God's grace like a blanket covering me. I knew that Blayne was my saving grace and that this moment would change the rest of our lives together. We are so excited to share this next chapter of our lives, as Mr. and Mrs. McElroy, with you all!
