Andy's selflessness and care touched my heart in ways I never thought possible. He brought me breakfast every morning, checked in on me, and was always there to lend a helping hand. ## A Partnership Like No Other Over the years, Andy has been my rock, my confidant, my best friend. He's been my chef, my doctor, my teacher, and my biggest cheerleader. Love at First Sight - Andy's Account It all started when a staff member called out sick from work and I had to get a replacement. It so happened that the replacement was a friend of mine, but for him to come in to work, I had to go pick him up from his house. Coincidentally, I had to pass Jodi’s house to get to his house and that's when I saw Jodi sitting on her front porch and she immediately caught my attention. So the first thing I said when I got to my friend's house was, "I saw this pretty girl sitting on the front porch, who is she?" He laughed and said, "She’s my friend." He went on to say, "I’ve been trying to get that girl for so long and I don’t get through, so I don’t think you have a chance, however, I’m gonna introduce you to her." And so he did. We exchanged numbers, but I didn't call her until a few days later. OUR FIRST DATE: I finally called and we made arrangements to go on our first date. We both decided to meet for dinner at a Chinese restaurant in town. I was very excited to the point where I got there 1 hour earlier than our scheduled time because I just wanted to see her walking to the restaurant. The restaurant was on the second floor of the building, so I positioned myself at a window where I could see her entering the building from the street below. She arrived, and we ordered our meals. I can remember I did not eat because I was so in love, and not to mention, Jodie ate all her food and I’m sure she was wondering, "what’s up with this guy? Why is he not eating?" Well, our first date was so good I requested a second, and this time I offered to cook. OUR SECOND DATE: So I decided to cook for our second date and I asked her what she wanted me to prepare. She gave a simple answer, "Surprise me". And surprise her, I did. I made baked chicken, mashed potatoes, and beans and that was the beginning of our almost 11 years of being together. AN AWESOME JOURNEY: My last 10+ years have been the best part of my life. I couldn't have asked for anyone else more committed and supportive to be with than Jodie. I can remember as a Security Field Supervisor, I worked at night, and Jodie would come to my office after leaving her job in the evenings. Night after night she would be with me on the road at 2:00 and 3:00 in the morning, checking locations. That’s how supportive she is. She is my biggest cheerleader and I can’t wait to officially call her my wife 😇
