About us

Ramon and I met in college, Olivet Nazarene University. We met when I was a sophomore and he was a junior. We were both in a Spanish for healthcare class. The first day I walked in I noticed him and realized he was the guy around campus that wherever I went he was there. I found a seat right behind him. I did not know anyone in the class, so I was nervous about finding a friend. Immediately as soon as class started, the professor announced to find 2 partners and to get their phone numbers in case we miss a day of class or we need help remembering the homework, etc. Ramon and I found each other and we asked each other to be partners and I gave him my phone number and he gave me his. I developed a crush for him, but was too shy to do anything about it. Later on, a lot of our friends or people we knew in common who knew about this teased him once about asking me out in front of me! In that moment I was terrified, but he was like, “Sure!” And that is how we had our first date. We met up for coffee at common grounds, our school coffee shop. I talked the whole time, because I was so nervous. Later on, he texted me and asked if we could meet up during our Winter break and I said yes. When we came back home for break he took me to the mall, where I later fell down a step because I was so nervous. When we came back to school on January 12, 2016 he asked me to be his girlfriend officially and I accepted! It has now been 4 years together and he proposed on July 7, 2019, before the Mexico v. USA soccer game. It was completely unexpected and a magical day for both of us! Over the last 4 years, we have grown to love each other more and learn to be more patient and just appreciate each others company. We have also survived being long distance - when I was studying abroad for a whole semester in Ecuador in 2018. We both graduated from school! We both since then started our professional careers, he is a nurse and I am a teacher. We are so ready for the future TOGETHER!
