Our love story began on December 21, 2019 when Kason was invited by a mutual friend to join a game night at Jocelyn’s house during their Junior year of high school. A variety of games were played that night, but Kason particularly remembers playing “signs” and “interacting” with Jocelyn all night as he kept passing the “sign” to her. Kason requested Jocelyn’s phone number from a friend to “thank her for the fun night,” while that was really a good excuse to start texting Jocelyn himself! Just a few weeks later, Kason asked Jocelyn on their first date! Jocelyn and Kason continued to date through high school and for a few months after graduation before Kason left to serve a two year LDS mission in Cali, Colombia on July 8, 2021. Jocelyn moved to Cedar City to begin training for the SUU gymnastics team on the very same day. The two year separation was a challenge for both of them, but Jocelyn and Kason were both able to grow in so many ways and were a great strength and support for one another. They looked forward to weekly e-mails and messages over Facebook messenger every Monday and Jocelyn was committed to her decision to wait for Kason's return. She counted down every month, week, and day until Kason returned home celebrating with chips, queso, and balloons every month, chocolate kisses every week, and countdown widgets every day! She lived for P-days and even though he didn’t express it as often, Kason did too! After a long two years of waiting and much anticipation, Kason returned home from his mission on June 22, 2023 where Jocelyn was anxiously waiting for the promised BEST HUG EVER at the airport! It was the BEST DAY EVER!!! On their very first date post-mission, Kason jumped right in on a discussion about their plans for the future and they both knew they wanted to spend the rest of their lives together! Less than a week later, talk of marriage led to full wedding planning even before the actual proposal took place! Kason proposed on August 10, 2023! It was the BEST DAY EVER…again!! We are so excited to begin our lives together and we can’t wait to celebrate with you on November 4th!
