Maid of Honor
If you are surprised by this...you're crazy. My sister, my best friend since day one, the sun to my moon, and the only person with standards as high as mine for party planning. Kaley is all of my favorite parts of myself, without any of the other stuff, and sprinkling in some mind-blowing talent and charisma that I could never touch. She is brave and good and kind. She knows every part of my story, and still somehow sees me as the hero. Every version of myself throughout time is thrilled to have her as our Maid of Honor.
Best Man
This is a man who lets you know he's a safe person to talk to without saying a word. We met in elementary school and grew closer as teenagers while bonding over video games (you'll notice this is a recurring theme), rock music, and mischief. He's had my back through it all, he tried to prop me up when I was down, and I'm better for it. I think we've driven down every road in our home town together, and laughed while we did it. Christian wrote the book on being a best friend.
Bridesman
I was born to be Karina's best friend, that has been clear for as long as I've been able to breathe. My cousin, my sister, truly my other half. She has given me the privilege of being such a huge part of her children's lives, and the honor of marrying her and her husband at their wedding. From being little girls draping ourselves in white sheets to design our very own wedding gowns, to helping each other choose the real deal-- there would be no day without her by my side.
Groomsman
If I've done something that you consider remarkable, I did it to impress my brother Alex. I'll never not look up to my big brother. I'm glad we're similar in the ways that we are, and I can't wait until he can be an uncle to my kids. His taste for intricacies and oddities have inspired my interest in everything that I love today. Whether it's movies, music, or even my own art style - Alex showed it to me first.
Bridesmaid
Caitlyn has been one of my favorite humans for as long as I can remember. Somehow the rosy cheeked little cousin chasing behind us became my biggest supporter, cheerleader, confidant, and truly one of my best friends. Through every phase of my life she has been there for me. She brings a sense of comfort and peace that I couldn't be without on my wedding day! Caitlyn is loyalty, hype, and compassion wrapped up in one beautiful bridesmaid package!
Groomsman
Similar to Alex, my greatest technical accomplishments are mostly to impress my other brother, Erik. I could always count on Erik to roller blade the day away with me. There were no two brothers cooler on our street than us. He was better than me at every game and took satisfaction in my defeat, but at the end of the day he was a good teacher. He's the most brilliant person I know and I'm proud to have him with me on my wedding day.
Bridesmaid
Ashley is and always has been one of the most important people in my life. My sister, for all intents and purposes, and truly a big piece of my heart. Ashley was my original barbie doll, 5 years younger than me, I considered her my "baby" for many years. She's grown into one of the most genuine, creative, funny, and kind people I know and my childhood self would be crying just to see the beautiful person she is and to see her standing by my side at our wedding!
Groomsman
Allan has been an incredible pleasant surprise. Since joining the family, he quickly became someone that Ian could talk to, lean on, and laugh with. Allan has become an inspiration for Ian, as Ian has tackled learning Spanish. Allan brings joy, kindness, and laughter and continues to be a great friend and future brother-in-law!
Bridesmaid
Liz saved me Senior year. Moving into a dorm room alone, with all of my stuff and no gusto to ask for help, she graciously offered me her moving cart and we both look back at that moment as if magic sparked and we just knew we'd met a kindred spirit. Through hits like "here's your chicken, I'm insecure" and "look at the moon...it's hUGE", Liz makes me laugh like no one else, and understands me like no one else. It wouldn't be a party without her. Liz truly makes everyone around her feel seen and valued. She is one of the most intentional, thoughtful, and dynamic humans I know. Liz can change your life in one conversation. Every minute I get to spend in her presence is a gift that I treasure and a memory that I collect in a very special compartment in my heart assigned to her wisdom, her humor, and her genuine acceptance.
Groomsman
Mike and I went to pre-school together. Then we met again in 3rd grade, and this time he decided it was ok to be friends. His family is like a second to me. I feel proud when his siblings do cool things because I watched them grow up. He's the coolest person I know, easily. He's always had an eagerness to hang out and play games with me and my childhood without him would be so blank. He shares a love of the bizarre and a sense of humor that only we can appreciate. Sharing things with Mike is more fun than anyone. He's always been somewhere in my life, and I'll always need him there.
Bridesmaid
I met Lauren in the Spring of 2016, just two to-be RA's, anxiously grasping for connection at a meet and greet for our next years' staff. I knew pretty instantly that she'd become a fixture in my life. Next, we bonded over our mutual desire to ward off boys & crushes during our RA year. We found ourselves connecting about music, and art, and media, and our mutual passions. Through so many memories of laughter, tears, grief, guidance, support, and even more laughter...Lauren remains one of the most important people in my life, and even in our less communicative phases, I often think "what would Lauren do" and imagine her advice, her positivity, and her hope and it helps.
Groomsman
Sometimes I think either Joc or Alex are the biggest fans of my artwork...but then Tyler finds a way to pump me up about what I do. In fact, when I used to draw crummy little comics in high school... he was my biggest fan. There are things that I say and reference daily that I'm used to no one else understanding, but when we hang out I feel a sense of home because he cackles out of the silence. Tyler has proven time and time again that he understands what I'm trying to "do." He always knew how to find me in a crowd and make me feel like a comedian. These days I look up to my friend Tyler and his accomplishments. His football takes are pretty good, too.
Bridesmaid
Brittany and I bonded over a bad dorm room haircut and a deep conversation. Brittany is the epitome of a "good person." She sees the best in everyone and I truly have always felt that when those two shy girls met, she saw the best in me. We laughed late into the nights and early into the mornings some days, we talked about our pasts, present, and futures and we dreamed about this day. I specifically remember sitting outside of a dorm building and exclaiming to each other, "imagine...you will be my bridesmaid one day." I had the honor and privilege of holding up my end of the deal in March of 2021, and I am absolutely ecstatic to have her by my side just as we'd dreamed!
Groomsman
Connor is my sense of humor. He made everything funny and I challenge anyone to make me laugh harder than him. My grammar today is different because of how we used to talk to make each other laugh. Our love for outrageous and absurd media bonded us as we grew up and our interests developed. Swimming and staying up until the crack of dawn playing video games with him are some of my most treasured memories. We told each other everything in the most vulnerable time of my life. It all would have been hell without Connor.
Junior Bridesmaids
As long as these two girls have been alive I have dreamed of them being in my wedding. How old would they be? Who would they be? What would our relationship look like when that time came? In their lives they have been my little sidekicks, my cheerleaders through college, lifelong students of the school of Jocie, and of course, my entire beating heart. Marissa and Bella are growing into the most beautiful, hilarious, and independent young women and I am so proud to have them with me on this day.
Ring Bearer
Little Guy, biggest heart. This boy has had Joc's heart since he was born, and quickly became besties with Ian. Michael is so very funny, talented, kind, and brave. He is so smart, and is growing into a person who asks important questions, and loves deeply. He is truly a gift and one of our favorite people.
Flower Girl
Ava is the real star of the day. A princess amongst us, and Ian and Joc's biggest supporter since day one. When we all lived together, Ava spent many hours hanging out in our room with the us, bouncing off of our walls, and truly reminding us that we were not nearly ready to be parents! She is a light and a joy and I'm more excited for her walk down the aisle than my own!
