We met at Vintage Tavern in Smyrna on Memorial Day weekend 2018. Bryan(Balog) asked Jobyna's friend Jimmy about her. Jimmy nonchalantly said "that's Beans." Somehow afterwards our friends got us together and we started talking. With so many mutual friends we amazingly never shared a conversation prior to that night. Bryan texted Jobyna a few days later and plans were made to meet for a Braves game the next weekend. The game was followed by a dinner in Roswell the following Wednesday night. We sat and talked for so long the restaurant closed with us still sitting on the patio! After that it was all over, we were officially smitten! We spent our first year together having weekly Wednesday night dinners. We would spend pretty much every weekend together after that. These weekends would be spent either going to a sporting event, concert, hanging with our friends, traveling, or binging a series.
Jobyna decided to get away for the weekend and booked The Read House in Chattanooga. Bryan had never been there and we talked about it every time we drove to Nashville. We spent Saturday shopping, eating at the local restaurants, and even went on a whiskey tour/tasting. We had dinner Saturday night at the Bridgeman's Chophouse at our hotel. After dinner we wanted to get drinks at the hotel bar, but it closed at 11pm and it was fast approaching. While walking the few steps to the bar, Bryan tried to make an excuse to go up to the room. He said, "I need a jacket, its kind of cold." Jobyna was not having it and knew there wasn't time to waste if they were going to get a nightcap. After arriving at last call we ordered two drinks to suffice for the evening. Bryan chugged his two beers knowing the night was not done and something was waiting upstairs. Jobyna on the other hand though she should take her time and enjoy her wine. We sat long after all the other guests had left. Finally Bryan was able to get Jobyna to call it a night. We could go upstairs after a completely great day! We made it up to our room and started to get ready for bed. Bryan mentioned something about a crazy day, but he had one more question to ask Jobyna. Jobyna was confused thinking it wasn't a crazy day, watched Bryan drop to his knee, pull out a beautiful ring, and pop THE question! It was the perfect ending to the perfect day! ...obviously she said YES!
