FAQs

Question

What time of day should I fly in?

Answer

We recommend scheduling a flight to Costa Rica that lands early in the morning since the drive to the resort is about two hours. We strongly recommend that you do not drive at night.

Question

I have a food allergy, can I make a special request?

Answer

Absolutely! Please let us know if you have a food allergy so we can meet your dietary needs.

Question

Is there a dress code?

Answer

The dress code for the wedding is semi-formal (no jeans or t-shirts please). Feel free to enjoy any footwear that's perfect for a Costa Rican celebration—sandals are definitely welcome!

Question

What time should I arrive at the ceremony?

Answer

2:40

Question

What will the weather be like?

Answer

June marks the start of the rainy season in Costa Rica, but don't worry—rain typically comes in short bursts! You can expect temperatures to range from the 70s to the 90s, creating a warm and lush atmosphere perfect for exploration.

Question

What should I pack?

Answer

Here are some packing suggestions for your Costa Rican adventure: don’t forget to bring sandals or flip-flops, two pairs of sneakers (one that you don’t mind getting a bit dirty), water shoes or hiking shoes if you plan to explore, a rain jacket or poncho, sunglasses, a small backpack or zippered purse, and a portable cell phone charger. Happy packing!

Question

How will I get to the venue?

Answer

We are currently exploring options for shuttle services for your convenience. More information about transportation arrangements will be shared closer to the wedding date, so please stay tuned for updates.

Question

Can I take photographs during the ceremony?

Answer

While we love that you want to capture our special moments, we kindly request an unplugged ceremony to allow everyone to be fully present in the experience. Our professional photographer will be capturing all the highlights, and we'll share the photos with you afterwards. However, feel free to take as many photos as you would like afterwards!

Question

How will I communicate with my family in Costa Rica?

Answer

We encourage all guests to first check with your cell phone provider to see if your current plan offers coverage in Costa Rica, as many do! This can save you time and hassle during your trip. If your plan doesn’t include coverage, consider purchasing a local SIM card or accessing the hotel’s free Wi-Fi. You might also want to download WhatsApp as another convenient way to stay connected with family and friends!

Question

What can I do at the resort?

Answer

The Dreams resort has so many things to offer! Some activities include, local wildlife watching, ping-pong, non-motorized water sports, multiple pools, gym, spa, big screen movies, shows, and cooking classes. -Explorers Club For Kids ages 3-12, offering video games, crafts and even a camping adventure. Open daily from 9 a.m. – 9:45 p.m. -Core Zone Teens Club for ages 13-17, social events, video games and table games. Open daily from 6 p.m. – 10 p.m.

Question

Is travel safe at night in Cost Rica?

Answer

We do not recommend traveling past when the sun goes down. Streetlights are uncommon and it can be difficult to navigate in the evenings. Potholes are larger than they appear. Please drive slowly.

Question

What is the currency in Costa Rica?

Answer

The official currency of Costa Rica is the Costa Rican colon (CRC). U.S. dollars (USD) and most credit cards (Visa or Mastercard and some places AMEX) are widely accepted in many places, especially in tourist areas. It is helpful to have colones on hand for smaller purchases. If you are brining American dollars, avoid large bills.
