So it all started back when I saw Shoba dancing at a wedding. I couldn't take my eyes off of her! She was sooo beautiful, but I was way too nervous to talk to her. A couple years passed and then we ended up seeing each other at another wedding. This time I couldn't leave without making a move, but I was still too chicken to talk to her.. SOOOO I asked her brother-in-law if she was single. I asked him to put in a good word for me and see if she was interested. He got me her number, but I went back to Philadelphia and it seemed rushed. I came home a few times and I would always nonchalantly text/snap Shoba something to get a conversation going so I could hopefully see her. The text that really got the gears going was this combo of messages "Did you get your braces off? How was Beyonce's concert." I had no idea such a random text like that would reel her in the way it did. So guys, shoot your shot! We spent almost everyday together until I had to go back to school. We knew dating long distance would not be easy, especially since I had 4 more years left, but I knew I would never find someone as perfect as Shoba. With God's grace and a lot of patience from both of us, we made it! Now with the prayers and support of family and friends we will be pursuing marriage. We ask you all to pray for not only for a smooth wedding day, but also to allow our marriage to reflect the Gospel and bring others to Christ.
I don’t recall the absolute first time that I met Jobin. Although he claims to have met me in 2013 at a wedding, I only remember playing football with him once and then seeing him at a CSI sleepover at Jacob’s house back in 2014. Fast forward to 2015, I was at a wedding and someone points over to a group of guys and tells me that the one sitting down is famous on YouTube for his Weeknd covers. I was intrigued so I walked over and the guy sitting down was Jobin. We talked for a few minutes and before I left I thought “I’m probably never going to see this guy again, so if he IS in fact famous I may as well get a picture in”. I now realize how much of a fangirl it makes me sound like, but hey, I’m just being honest. After the wedding, my brother-in-law drops me home and tells me that Jobin asked about me and wanted my number. I’ll repeat that. Jobin did not ask me for my number.. he asked my brother-in-law. I was skeptical at first, but I thought what the heck, he’s famous right? We texted for a few days, but the timing wasn’t right since Jobin went to school in Philadelphia and I was in Texas. We kept in touch and whenever he was back in town we would catch up. Jobin and I were both in Houston for summer break in 2016. After he sent the infamous "you got your braces off?" text, we spent that whole summer together and decided we wanted to continue pursuing each other long distance. Over the years, God has helped us build a strong foundation rooted in love, patience, and continuous laughter. Job may not be famous, but I am still and will forever be his fangirl.. fanwife? whatever
