JoBeth and Matt are incredibly thankful the wedding is able to go on, but want to continue supporting all of those affected by Helene . Many of you have reached out and asked how you can help as well. We will be collecting items at the Welcome Party Thursday evening to be donated to the Salvation Army in Hendersonville and are also encouraging donations to Samaritan's Purse. Items most in need, which are going to directly to those in need include: water, clorox wipes, wet wipes, canned food with pop tops, toiletries, diapers, blankets and medicine. All of this will be taken directly to the Salvation Army for distribution in the Western NC region. We also encourage donations to Samaritan's Purse, a not for profit organization close to JoBeth and Matt. Brian Gresham, JoBeth's Godbrother, is an Operations Director and has worked for this amazing organization for years. They have been on the ground since Helene hit and are working to help all those impacted. The best way you can help is through a donation. You can do so by going to their website listed below https://www.samaritanspurse.org/disaster/hurricane-helene/?utm_source=Ggl&utm_medium=cpc&utm_campaign=m_YGND-B24V&utm_content=HurricaneHelene&gad_source=1&gclid=Cj0KCQjw6oi4BhD1ARIsAL6pox29fWSUhuFy0kPdHMHbE0Si3z9q-cSyXoPwM6kYnBDFYMfDrfsM8rYaAtGWEALw_wcB Thank you in advance for your kindness and giving to those that need it most!
Currently, there is a 10 PM curfew in place in Hendersonville, for the safety of line workers and those without electricity. The welcome reception ends at 8 pm, so that leaves you a few hours to enjoy Main Street and our reception after the wedding concludes at 9 PM. We will keep you posted as the City makes updates to this status. Major roads in the Hendersonville area are clear. Downtown to the venue is clear. If you are staying at an AirBNB we recommend you verify with your host that all roads to access are clear.
Yes, but some businesses are still dealing with connectivity issues so it would be a good idea to have some cash on hand. We ate at two restaurants on Saturday and both accepted credit cards! The local businesses are thankful to have the support.
Yes there is gas. We drove through Hendersonville on Saturday October 5th, and gas stations off of I-26 had gas. Premium was the only gas we saw any shortages with. We encourage you to full up prior to crossing the state line into North Carolina if possible to help the local supply.
The ceremony will begin at 4:30 but please keep in mind- this is a VERY busy time of year in the mountains and traffic heading into Hendersonville/Asheville will be heavy. If you are traveling in on Friday, we encourage you to leave plenty of buffer time! For example, a typical 50 minute drive from Greenville on Friday afternoons can take up to 90 minutes with traffic.
There is ample parking available at Burntshirt. We encourage Uber/lyft if you plan on partaking in libations. Cars are permitted to be left overnight and the gates will open the next morning around 10AM. We will have 2, 14-passenger buses that will take 2 trips, from the reception with a drop off downtown Hendersonville in front of Hannah Flanagan's (after party!).
Cocktail attire. The ceremony will take place in the vineyards and some walking will be required, so plan accordingly for shoes.
Please take a look at our lodging suggestions page. There are a few B&B’s downtown we love, some chain hotels you could use points and some great short term rentals that would make for a fun weekend! Downtown Hendersonville is 5 miles (10 minutes) from the venue.
While we love each and every one of your kids, we ask that they stay home and you enjoy a “parents night out” for the wedding as space is limited at our venue. Thank you for understanding!
