Very close to our venue, lies the beautiful forest and hunting grounds (Tapada) of Mafra. Expect very beautiful walks and deer sights, the tapada can be explored on foot, on BTT, and also via a train tour (check their website for more details)
Mafra is the nearest city to our wedding venue, so if you are staying there or want to visit on a day trip, we recommend going to Mafra National Palace. Expect big, furnished rooms from a different era and a breathtaking library and church.
Belém Tower is a 16th-century fortification located in Lisbon that served both as a fortress and as a ceremonial gateway to Lisbon. It was built during the height of the Portuguese Renaissance. Very close to the Jerónimos Monastery.
The Jerónimos Monastery is a former monastery of the Order of Saint Jerome near the Tagus river in the parish of Belém. One of the most decorative churches of Portugal, it will capture your imagination and well worth a visit if your planning a day trip to the Belém area.
Hilltop medieval castle from the 8th and 9th centuries, this place offers one of the most stunning and panoramic views of the municipality of Sintra, and on a clear day of Mafra and Ericeira. Quite steep climb, but well worth the effort.
