First and foremost we wanted to thank all of our family and friends for bearing with us throughout this crazy year filled with unexpected events. We've had an extra year of waiting and the anticipation for our wedding day has only grown. And we are so very excited that our wonderful family and friends still support us. The final countdown begins NOW....see you all NEXT MONTH! xoxo- George & Joannie
In preparation for the special day the couple, along with their families, have decided that it is imperative that proper safety and health protocols are followed to ensure a comfortable environment for all the guests. Below all guests shall read and review all wedding protocols that must be followed during the wedding event. We understand that the world operates very differently now and we want nothing more for our guests to feel safe, comfortable and have THE TIME OF THEIR LIVES! (1) Upon entry, all guests must have their temperature screened by wedding support staff. Based on current 2021 CDC guidelines, all guests who have a temperature of 100.1 degrees or higher will be denied access into the evening's festivities. To avoid this course of action altogether, we graciously asks that all guests STAY HOME if a fever (i.e., dry cough, nasal congestion, loss of taste/smell, nausea, fatigue, body aches, etc.) is present. (2) For those interested, mask WILL be provided for your use. (3) In collaboration with the wedding venue, the bride and groom have elected to have extra hand sanitizing stations in various locations throughout the wedding (e.g., the outdoor patio during cocktail hour, at the bar, and the grand ballroom during dinner reception) for the convenient use of all guests. All restrooms will be fully stocked with the proper materials for adequate and thorough handwashing. (4)HAVE FUN AND DANCE WITH US!!!! THE BRIDE AND GROOM LOVE TO DANCE SO DON'T LEAVE US HANGIN'!
The couple met in the fall of 2007 during their freshman year of high school. The first time they ever laid eyes on each other was at the school bus stop. One day, a confident George mustered up the courage to compliment Joannie on her backpack. After the compliment, George asked Joannie if he could sit next to her on the bus—and thus began the beginning of their love story. On April 27, 2008 the couple officially started dating and they’ve been together ever since. The couple even adopted a six month old pup named Riley together in the spring of 2016, whom they love so much!
During spring break of 2018, the couple took a romantic weekend getaway trip to Atlanta, Georgia. The trip consisted of visiting the city’s greatest attractions that included the: Georgia Aquarium, College Football Hall of Fame and the Center for Civil and Human Rights. On March 10, 2018, George surprised Joannie with a horse and carriage tour all around Downtown Atlanta. At the end of the ride around the city, George got down on one knee and proposed. The special moment was documented and the footage is something that the couple hold near and dear to their hearts.
