Long ago, in a faraway village, lived a young maiden named Joanne of House Asperga. She had reached a point in her life where she was ready to open her heart to someone. Joanne searched across the realm for acceptable suitors until one day a portrait at the Great Hall of Inter caught her eye. In this portrait was a man in a suit of armor, riding a noble steed. Intrigued, she asked the local records keeper, Dertin, for more information. She was told the man was named Blake of House Bauer. Dertin informed her that Blake had also expressed interest in her portrait. A few days later, Joanne opened a message from Blake with his request to court her. They exchanged letters back and forth until they finally decided to meet in person at the public house to play ninepins. Enchanted with each other, they decided to continue their courtship and thus began their love story.
Two years after the plague and after 4 years in courtship, Blake decided to ask for Joanne's hand in marriage. He first had to find a worthy gem to present to her. Blake had learned that near the village was a dragon's lair, where it guarded the most brilliant and indestructible stone in all the land, so he set forth to retrieve it. He fought tirelessly and bravely until he slayed the mighty beast and acquired his prize. In following with the village custom, Blake first presented the gem as well as 3 cows to Sir John, head of House Asperga. Pleased with the offering, Sir John congratulated Blake and accepted him into the family. Blake sent a request to Joanne to meet him at the Bethesda Fountain in Central Park. When she arrived, he got down on one knee and presented her the gem. Blake proposed marriage and Joanne gladly accepted.
