We met online. It was during covid and no one was leaving their house for the most part except to work, and maybe a doctor's appointment. I (Joanne) decided to sign up for a dating app which is very unlike me. Steve was on the site already and a match was received. We both showed interest and began casually messaging one another. This lasted several weeks and we did not meet in person due to COVID. (Steve wanted to and I said no). I then got sick and we didn't text as often for about three weeks or so. I finally felt good enough to text him again and he told me that he was dating someone else. We wished each other well and that was that....or was it??? Well, it kind of was for about a year or so, then all of a sudden, I got an interest on my profile again (Truth be told I was not using the app actively at the time) and it was Steve. I didn't realize it was him at first because I had deleted his profile, he knew though. He played along with my forgetfulness for a little while and then said "Hey, let me text you off the app and we can chat easily then." I said it was ok and as soon as I entered his phone number in my phone all of the old text messages came scrolling back! We went on our first date a few weeks later and well the rest is history! I also never let him forget that he "broke up with me before we even started dating". How many people can say that?
