We’re getting married!

Joann and Irving met on January 6th, 2018. They went on a blind date that was set up by Irving's cousin, Noemi. Joann was introduced to Noemi through a mutual friend, Maria. Noemi arranged the entire date and would not give them any insight on who they were, or where they were from, absolutely no clues. She asked them both to bring a flower in order to recognize one another. They met for dinner at Folklore Argentine Grill and then continued the night to The Violet Hour. It was the perfect beginning to their love story!

Joann and Irving started the day early by participating in the Chicago Bears 5K race. After an exhausting run, they went home to relax before going to an art event at Hoypoloi Gallery in Chinatown. Irving secretly asked an artist, Fabio Napoleoni, to do a special proposal illustration on his painting called Explosion of Emotions. Irving also planned for close family and friends to be at Hoypoloi as a surprise. Soon after they arrived, Irving was asked to unveil and present the special painting. He spoke about the painting and what it meant to the artist, his words were actually his feelings about Joann. At the end of the speech he got down on one knee and proposed! She said YES!
