If you think you know how Tim & Joanna’s love story started, you’re probably wrong. It’s true that they met when he walked her down the aisle at Andy & Veronica’s wedding over thirteen years ago, but their journey really began a decade later at a family party. YES! a decade later.... Joanna isn’t sure if it was the 80’s Nascar Driver mustache or the Jorts and cut off T-shirt combo Tim was sporting on the farm that day that caught her eye but he left an impression. So much so that weeks later, Tim was still on her mind. Thanks to Facebook the two made contact & over the next months (& even years), their lives aligned enough that they were able to find time to see each other as their jobs took them both all over the country. Last year, when Covid hit, they decided to take the ultimate leap of faith… Joanna relocated to California to be close to Tim who was stationed in San Diego. And if you ever wanted to be sure that you could spend the rest of your life with somebody, a pandemic is a really good way to test that theory. Though it was a hard time for everyone, it ended up being a gift for this couple, who, for the first time in their relationship, were able to spend real, quality time together, especially knowing that Tim’s deployment was on the other side of their quarantine. They were engaged in January of 2021 on Catalina Island after a very “exciting” hike & an even more “exciting” attempt to get home. Tim deployed August 2021 & will return just before their wedding in May 2022. Difficult as it is to be apart, Joanna is focused on planning Tim’s best “surprise” wedding party ever, as long as he promises not to come home with that mustache (or maybe with it, jury’s still out).
