Lake Norman Area
* Cornelius, where the ceremony will be, is included in the Lake Norman area. The road where the park is, Catawba, is a main road so there are a lot of places to eat * There are a bunch of breweries all over the area * There are a few parks on the lake as well as restaurants and boat rental places. * Downtown Davidson is a small college town that has some great places to eat, an indie bookstore, a couple of shops, a couple of cute coffee shops, and is across the road from the beautiful Davidson College. * Downtown Mooresville, the town we live in, has delicious food, a new park, my favorite indie bookshop, a record store, some shops, a few small coffee shops, and is a social district so you can take your drinks with you while you walk around. * Birkdale Village is just down the road from our venue and is a nice outdoor mall.
Carolina Renaissance Festival
If you want to see a lovely ren faire, ours will still be going on! The buildings are permanent and it's surrounded by trees. We also have mermaids! Parking is free and it is close by.
Asheville
*Ashville was recently devastated in the flash floods of Helene. They announced recently that they are back open for business and need the tourism badly. Blowing Rock and Boone are other mountain towns that need the tourism but were not badly affected by the storm. Ashville is 2 hours away from us and is a gorgeous mountain town. It's in the Blue Ridge Mountains and has delicious food and fun shops in the downtown area. The Biltmore Estate is also just a few minutes drive from downtown and is an incredible experience.
Charlotte
Only about 20 minutes from Cornelius, where the ceremony is. * Camp North End has food, shops, and fun seating spots. * Optimist Hall has so many different types of food and a handful of shops (and is indoors). * Amelie's French Bakery and Cafe is a super cute spot that has delicious food. * NASCAR Hall of Fame * Lots of great breweries * U.S. National Whitewater Center * UNC Botanical Gardens * Carowinds (an amusement park like Knotts Berry Farm. I haven't been to it yet)
