Not surprisingly that is the first question people ask us when they find out that we live in different countries. In fact it's a pretty classic boy-meets-girl story. Kim and a group of his friends were in New York visiting their friend Jillian for her 30th birthday celebration. It should be noted here that Jillian is also my good friend - and bridesmaid! In a group of over twenty people we happened to sit across from each other at dinner. We shared stories and pasta before going out to the bar where we sang and danced along with an 80's cover band. Kim was heading back to Norway a mere twenty four hours later but we knew there was something special between us that night. The next day we had our first official date... which ended up becoming four dates. A simple coffee date turned into brunch which lead to shopping in Times Square and finally a few drinks at a local bar. A few hours later Kim and his friends were off to the airport on their way back to Norway, but obviously that's not where our story ends. After chatting everyday for the next three weeks, Kim booked a trip back to the US to visit and the rest is history. It may sound cliche to say that "when you know, you know" but in our case it was clear from day one that we found something so special even an ocean couldn't keep us apart.
