Our story begins the modern way… online. Yes, two complete strangers with no clue who the other person really was — we didn’t even know each other’s full names! But somehow, the universe (and good online date app) brought us together. We decided to meet on a Sunday afternoon great timing, because I was flying to Panama the very next day. No pressure, right? Our first date was supposed to be quick… but it turned into hours of talking, laughing, and sharing stories until the restaurant was basically closing around us. We clicked instantly like, “where have you been all my life?” energy. And honestly, the moment I saw him, I thought: “Oh no… he might actually be the one.” And guess what? I was right. We’ve been inseparable ever since. Joanna was first date after a long relationship in the past. I remember being so nervous and excited at the same time. The moment I saw her, I was completely taken aback by her beauty, her charm, and the warmth she carried so effortlessly. But even with all those emotions, I wasn’t sure if it was the right time to open my heart again. She was leaving for Panama the very next day, and we were going to be apart for over a month. Looking back, that distance was a blessing. It gave me the time and clarity I needed to pray, reflect, and truly listen to what God was placing in my heart. And He made it clear—Joanna was meant to be in my life. God knew exactly what I needed, and He placed her right where she was meant to be. The rest… has turned into the most beautiful love story I’ve ever known. Fast forward to December 8, 2024 — Mother’s Day in my country, when he completely surprised me with a proposal. I had NO idea what was happening. Zero. Nothing. The shock on my face said it all… but it was the best gift ever. And now here we are, ready to start forever together and we’re still laughing.
