This waterfront restaurant at Lake Anna is open year-round and hosts events and specials for every season. It serves all your seafood favorites, including fresh crabs, oysters, scallops, shrimp, and fish as well as steaks, burgers, and other fare for the landlubbers.
The crown jewel of Lake Anna’s local activities would have to be the Lake Anna State Park. The park spans 2,810 acres with more than 10 miles of lake frontage. The land in Lake Anna State Park used to be known as “Gold Hill” and contained the Goodwin Gold Mine. Gold was first discovered in 1829, then peaked in the 1880s. Lake Anna State Park contains more than 15 miles of hiking trails, lakeshore picnicking spots, a guarded swimming beach, food concession stand, a bathhouse and a fishing pond for children.
Richmond is less than an hour away. It is a city with antebellum architecture and more than 100 murals. Classy burbs with every store on the planet. Farmlands with berry picking, wineries, tomato festivals, giraffe-feeding and antiquing. The Richmond Region isn’t just our downtown – it’s the city of Richmond, the city of Colonial Heights, the town of Ashland and four counties: Chesterfield, Hanover, Henrico and New Kent. Each area has its own personality. And no matter where you stay, you’re not far from any of them.
This is a quaint little town about 40 minutes from the ceremony. This is the closest train station to our house. The station is right in the center of town. There is a cute B&B too.
