Personal Photography & Cellphone use during Ceremony

Answer

We (The Church of St. Peter) DO NOT allow family members or friends using cameras or phones to video the wedding in the pews as they distract from the ceremony. We require that all cellphones are silenced and put away for the entirety of the ceremony.

Food, Drinks, and Alcohol at the Church

Answer

No food, beverages, or chewing gum are allowed in the church proper or gathering space. No alcohol is permitted anywhere on church property, including the parking lot. Drinking before the ceremony and/or the discovery of alcohol on our property will result in the wedding party member, family member, or guest being asked to leave.

Is there a dress code?

Answer

We ask that you please dress up nicely, in bright summery colors and floral patterns if you have them! Think ~Garden Party Formal~ as the general vibe! As the reception will be held outdoors, please feel free to wear (or bring) shoes that will be good for dancing in grass, and a change of cooler clothes if necessary!

When do I RSVP?

We ask that everyone RSVP by July 19th, 2025. If anyone does not RSVP or reach out by then we will unfortunately have to take you off the attending list, we hope you understand!

What time should I arrive?

Answer

The ceremony starts at 1pm, so we ask that everyone is in and seated by 12:30 to insure nothing is missed and everyone has a seat! Please be no later than 12:45.

Can I bring a Plus One?

Answer

Due to limited space, we are only able to accommodate guests formally invited on your wedding invitation. If you have a plus one it will be attached to your name when you RSVP! If you were not allotted a plus one please respect out wishes of keeping the wedding small and intimate. Thank you for understanding!

Where do I park at the reception?

Answer

We ask that everyone parks in the neighborhood behind our house. You can put 3589 Gershwin Pl, Oakdale, MN 55128 in your GPS system to get you there. Please be mindful of the neighbors and do not park in or block their driveways and remain quite when leaving!

Will the wedding be outdoors?

Answer

No, the wedding ceremony will be held inside of Joanna's hometown church. The reception and dinner *will* be held outdoors though, so please plan accordingly!

Are kids allowed to attend?

Answer

Yes absolutely! We would love to welcome your little ones with open arms on our special day! All children invited will be formally listed on the RSVP.

Will dinner provide allergy-friendly options?

Answer

We will be providing dairy free options, but if you have any other allergies please let us know as soon as possible. Because we are having a backyard-BBQ style reception, we are cooking all the food ourselves and can absolutely accommodate your allergies as long as we are given a timely heads-up! Please let us know at least by the RSVP date (July 19th) but the sooner the better!

Will there be an open bar?

Answer

Due to the relaxed nature of our reception, we will not be hiring a bartender. We will however have plenty of drinks available for those 21+ that will be free. That being said, we ask everyone to be respectful of Paul and Barb's property and we will remove the alcohol if anyone starts to get reckless with it. If you are going to drink, please plan accordingly to ensure you get home safely.
