If you ask me, I would say we met our Sophomore year of high school. However, Brandon doesn't remember (we sat right next to each other). There I was in Mrs. Wenz's Honors English when the cutest boy (dressed as a Zombie) came in to present his book report! I was like "Who is he?!" *HEART EYES* We became friends our Junior year through working on the yearbook staff together. We grew closer that following Summer through endless text threads. On the evening of September 30, 2012, in my parent's driveway, Brandon asked me to be his girlfriend. I said no, jokingly of course! Followed by a quick yes! As they say, the rest is history!
As many of you may know, we lost my Grandmother on October 15, 2018. That weekend we had planned on going up to the cabin to celebrate Brandon's Birthday (October 21st). I was extremely apprehensive about leaving my Mom but she assured me she would be fine and to get away for a bit! So off we went.. The morning of October 20, 2018 Brandon and I decided to go for a hike that neither one of us were prepared for, mind you! So out of shape... soooo out of shape! We decided to take a rest on this giant rock. There we laid looking up at the clouds and enjoying eachother's company. Have you ever played the game where you point out what shapes the clouds are making? Well, I pointed to a cloud and said "That one kind of looks like a heart" and Brandon said "It looks like a ring" Then I said "No, definitely a heart!" Then Brandon exclaimed, "It kinda looks like this one!" And cue the mouth drop followed by a squeal! The tears didn't come until after for me when he explained his original plans of wanting to include Grandma and to propose around the Holidays. However, once he noticed the rapid decline of her health, he knew it had to be sooner. One of the last moments he shared with Grandma was alongside my parents in her room asking for all 3 of their blessings. He then went on to ask the permission of my brother. How I didn't notice this was happening with me in the other room is beyond me! Family is of great importance to the both of us so knowing he asked for everyone's permission means the world to me and I know it does to them as well! Are you crying yet?! I am!
