Marlon and JoAnna met after matching on Tinder, where JoAnna made the first move and started the conversation. After weeks of texing, calling and snapchatting, they finally met in person. At that time, JoAnna did not have a vehicle, so Marlon would drive from Plano to Garland to pick her up for dates. JoAnna would also take the train to Plano, where Marlon would be waiting for her. As their relationship grew, weekends became something they both looked forward to despite their busy work schedules. "Sunday Funday" quickly became their tradition, often spent exploring downtown Dallas, walking around, and trying new places to eat together. Marlon was the definition of a Southern gentleman and did not kiss, let alone hold JoAnna's hands until months after they met. The two officially became boyfriend and girlfriend on August 23, 2015. Over the 10 years of being a couple, Marlon and JoAnna have been tested through shared challenges and varying life experiences. Through faith, perseverance and commitment they overcame together and continue to do so.
