Joanna and Dylan met back in August of 2021 during a Cru Kick-Off retreat over the summer. Their first ever conversation was in the driveway of Joanna’s Freshman year’s roommate. Joanna made the first move by walking up to him and introducing herself. They talked about their majors; Joanna, finding out he was a junior studying Environmental Science, had to pretend she knew what he was talking about. In those first moments of talking, there was a sense of ease and comfort. At the end of Joanna’s Yellowstone summer mission in 2023, Dylan flew out for a week to see and officially ask her to be his girlfriend. Through it all, they have seen how God needed to work in both of their lives separately so that they could come together as one. Joanna waited patiently for Dylan to propose for two years and eleven months. Dylan brought Joanna to Polly’s Pancake Parlour in Sugar Hill, New Hampshire, on March 21st, which would be the day their lives would change forever. After breakfast, he brought her to Echo Lake in Franconia, where he surprised her with a ring and close friends to celebrate the long-awaited moment in their lives.
