As many love stories start out these days... we met on a dating app! We were both living in Rochester at the time. Ryan had to put in some work to get a date, but here we are! First date 04.06.2019 Our first date was at a small Italian restaurant, Victorias, in Rochester, MN. Ryan picked me up and I got to teach him how to use the parking ramps downtown! Although, I ended up directing him to a ramp we had to pay for vs a free one... oops. I was pleasantly surprised he talked just as much as I did, if not more! He didn't even finish his food he was talking so much ;) We were both so comfortable right off the bat. After dinner we drove around town blasting our favorite songs for each other and laughing so hard our stomached started to hurt. The night ended with a kiss and us both wondering when the next date would be!
Heres some background first for those that don't know... Ryans mom, Kari, takes pictures for their family holidays, events etc. and edits them all herself. So, since we had recently moved into our new home, we were wanting some updated nice pictures for around the house! We talked to Ryans mom and set-up a date for an upcoming Saturday afternoon. I even recently found a dress at TJ Maxx that was perfect for pictures! Fast Forward to the Saturday... The day started with some pictures near a beautiful church and me getting used to being in front of the camera again. After a few pictures Kari suggested we go to this near by hiking area. We took some more very pretty pictures in this field and then we saw a small creek! Kari suggested Ryan spin me around to make my dress fly out. After getting dizzy... very very dizzy, Kari suggested we do it one more time because it was so cute! But this time, after I was spun around, Ryan was on his knee! My jaw dropped, (neither of us remember what he said in that moment other than, will you marry me... haha!) of course I said yes! Then I could not stop saying WHAT!? As he put the ring on my finger I looked at him and asked, "Is this for real!?". They got me good. We of course HAD to take a few more pictures with the RING! Ryan said he was so glad it was over with and he didn't have to hide the ring anymore. He then informed me I had almost donated the ring when I was cleaning out our closet a few months prior... oops, again. Haha!
Ryan and I adopted our first dog, Nov. 23rd, 2019. She was a stray 3y.o. Siberian Husky who's owners never claimed her. Ryan and I both had always dreamed of having a husky one day. We named her Evie and man did we have no idea what we signed up for, but we love her a whole lot! She is our sassy, lazy fluff ball and will be 6 in November. We adopted our second dog, Nov. 14th 2021. We had talked about getting a second dog for a while and once we saw this little guy we went for it! He was a 3m.o. Shepherd Mix who survived parvo. We named him Tar, after the University of North Carolina Tar Heels (Ryans a big UNC basketball fan). He has stayed much smaller than excepted and is just as cuddly as the day we brought him home! He will be 1 in August.
