Our Story

Where do we even begin? Parker and I first met in the 7th grade through his brother, Jackson. He was super quiet and did not form a sentence with me, so naturally, I thought he was a butthead. Fast forward to 10th grade chemistry. Our teacher, Phillip Laney, was very adamant about Parker and I being together, one way or another. Parker had the brains, and I, the beauty. We sat right next to each other, and Mr. Laney thought it was ideal for Parker to tutor me because I was not succeeding as well as he was. My exact words to that were: “Why are you making him tutor me? He barely talks, and I can pass chemistry on my own.” From then on, Parker and I were in at least one class together. By junior year, Parker hit a growth spurt and was a very attractive man to me! Because of the world shutting down from COVID-19, I was forced to talk to him on the phone instead of face-to-face. Parker did not have a phone nor a car, but I did not care. I am not one who gives up easily. I politely called his father and asked to speak to Parker; that phone call lasted for three hours, and both of our parents were genuinely surprised. I mustered up enough courage to ask him to go to a restaurant, just us two, once the world opened back up. (Disclaimer: I did not ask him on a “date”. It was his job to ask me on a date, and I told him that too.) After several phone calls and FaceTime conversations, Parker finally asked me to be his girlfriend on May 29th of 2020. We were inseparable since. After 2 and a half years of being together, Parker dedicated his life to Christ and was baptized; it was the happiest day of our lives! We did everything together, and our relationship was the most fun! We graduated from New Albany high school together, attended Itawamba community college, and unfortunately parted ways: him at Mississippi State University and I, at the University of Mississippi. After almost 4 and a half years of dating, Parker planned and executed a perfect proposal on September 28th of 2024. After a terrible day at Vaught Hemingway stadium in Oxford, he had me convinced we were going to our favorite restaurant to make up for the Rebels’ loss. My best friend and now Matron of honor, Larissa, just so happened to be “taking pictures” around the corner from Fairpark Grill. I thought nothing of it because she’s a professional photographer, and that’s what she’s always doing. After some forced effort, Parker finally got my stubborn butt out of the car and around the corner. Larissa asked if we wanted photos, and of course I said "yes". In the midst of that, Parker pulled me aside, said some things (I do not remember what he said), and asked me to be his WIFE! Of course, I said YESS!! I get to marry the man of my dreams for as long as the Lord allows me; our life couldn’t be more complete.
