Jo and Emily met in their senior capstone class at American University. Emily was the goody-two-shoes who sat in the front row and Jo was the kid who wouldn't stop talking in the back of the classroom. Emily's shushes and dirty looks from the front of the room must've caught Jo's attention. When Emily was asked to be in Jo's group for the final project, never did she think she would end up marrying one of those kids. Over the course of the semester, they started to click. Despite the few instances of Jo inviting Emily out for dinner and drinks just for her to realize it was a group activity, their relationship eventually grew into something special. After graduating, Jo moved to Florida and Emily moved to Philadelphia. Three years of long distance after was a breeze filled with “mini vacations” back and forth (mostly Emily embracing the snowbird life). The couple moved into their first home in South Philly in 2021 and got engaged in Zion National Park shortly after. They continue to keep themselves busy exploring the restaurants, history, and fun that Philadelphia has to offer. What better place to get married surrounded by the friends and family they love the most than in The City of Brotherly Love -- their home.
