Things To Do

There are some great places to visit during your stay in St Louis. Many of them have free admission and are fun for kids of all ages.

Gateway Arch National Park

St. Louis, MO 63102

No visit to Saint Louis would be complete without a visit to the iconic Gateway Arch National Park, its museum and the Old Courthouse Museum.

Saint Louis Zoo

1 Government Drive, St. Louis, MO 63110

Just a few miles Lafeyette Square, located in St. Louis’ Forest Park, is the Saint Louis Zoo, consistently voted the best zoo in the country—and it’s free! The zoo was established in 1904 as part of the 1904 St. Louis World’s Fair. The flight cage is an original element built in the zoo for the Worlds’ Fair.

St. Louis Aquarium at Union Station

201 South 18th Street, St. Louis, MO 63103

The aquarium located inside the historic St. Louis Union Station. It’s only 1.0 miles from Lafeyette Square and indoors. If travelling with children, there are hands on activities, guided by the staff, to introduce kids to aquatic life, and plenty to engage the adults, too. It’s best to purchase your tickets online, to select the time you want to go.

Saint Louis Science Center

5050 Oakland Avenue, St. Louis, MO 63110

This is also a great place for the whole family. There are ticketed attractions but general admission is free.

Missouri Botanical Garden

4344 Shaw Boulevard, St. Louis, MO 63110

Founded in 1859 by Henry Shaw, it’s one of the oldest botanical gardens in the US, a National Historic Landmark, as well as on the National Register of Historic Places.

Saint Louis Art Museum

1 Fine Arts Drive, St. Louis, MO 63110

Another gem of our town is the Saint Louis Art Museum. It’s one of the principal art museums in the US, with paintings, sculptures, cultural objects and ancient masterpieces from all over the world. Also, located in Forest Park, “next to” the Saint Louis Zoo, it, too, is free to the public.

Missouri History Museum

5700 Lindell Boulevard, St. Louis, MO 63112

Like all other venues in Forest Park, it is free to the public.

City Museum

750 North 16th Street, St. Louis, MO 63103

And for something completely different, you must make time for the City Museum
