This video is a raw and honest glimpse into our relationship. No crew, just us. It’s not perfect, but it’s real. These are the moments we cherish. We hope you enjoy watching our story.
Our story began in St. Louis College, Cebu, Philippines, in February 2014, at a time when neither of us expected our paths to intertwine in such a meaningful way. Nikko was in his senior year of high school, focused on finishing that chapter of his life, while I was just beginning mine as a teacher. I had recently stepped into the classroom as a substitute teacher, still finding my footing, learning as I went, and discovering what it truly meant to guide and connect with students. Back then, our worlds were simple and separate. Inside the classroom, I was his teacher, doing my best to navigate a new career, and he was one of the many students preparing to graduate. There was nothing extraordinary about those days at first glance, just the usual rhythm of school life. But sometimes, the most important stories begin in the most ordinary moments. In March 2014, Nikko graduated, marking the end of his high school journey. Around the same time, my role as a substitute teacher also came to an end. We both moved on from that chapter, each heading in our own direction, unaware that our story was only just beginning. Then, in April 2014, something changed. Nikko reached out. It was a simple gesture, but one that would shape everything that followed. Not long after, he made the effort to visit me in my hometown in Bohol. That moment became the turning point. What started as a connection formed within the walls of a classroom slowly transformed into something deeper, something more personal and real. From there, the rest is history, but not in the way people often say it lightly. Ours is a history built over time, through shared experiences, growth, challenges, and countless memories. We have seen each other through different stages of life, evolving not just as individuals but as partners. What began unexpectedly became something we chose, nurtured, and held onto through the years. Looking back, it’s incredible to think that our story started in such an unlikely place, during a brief moment in both of our lives. It reminds us that love doesn’t always arrive in the ways we expect. Sometimes, it finds you quietly, patiently waiting for the right time to unfold. And now, as we prepare to begin the next chapter together, we carry with us every step of that journey, from a classroom in Cebu to a lifetime ahead.
