Things To Do

We've called Chicago home for over 10 years and are so excited to have you visit our city! Please see below for some of our favorite recommendations on things to do around Chicago.

Stroll Through Chicago Neighborhoods

River North: Upscale art galleries, shopping, and dining (perfect for an afternoon out). Lincoln Park: Explore the free Lincoln Park Zoo and beautiful lakefront walking trails. Lakeview: Visit the iconic Wrigleyville area to see Wrigley Field, home of the Chicago Cubs. (A personal favorite - We currently live in Lakeview!) Wicker Park: A trendy and vibrant neighborhood known for its eclectic mix of boutique shops, street art, and buzzing nightlife.

Indulge in Chicago's Famous Food Scene

Deep Dish Pizza: Try Giordano’s, Lou Malnati’s, or Pequod’s for Chicago’s signature pie. Tavern Style Pizza: Some say the true “Chicago-style” pizza– our favorite is from Pat’s Pizza and Ristorante 😊 Italian Beef Sandwiches and Chicago-style hot dogs: Visit Al’s Beef or Portillo’s for these local favorites. Casual Eats: Check out Au Cheval or Small Cheval (famous burgers) or enjoy patio vibes at our favorite spot, Ranalli’s Lincoln Park (get the chicken tenders!!)

Take in the Views

Chicago Riverwalk: Walk or dine along the scenic Chicago River. Architecture Boat Tour: A must-do activity to learn about Chicago’s stunning skyline and history. 360 Chicago Observation Deck: Enjoy breathtaking views and the TILT experience at the John Hancock Building.

Explore Iconic Attractions

The Art Institute of Chicago: Home to world-famous artworks like Nighthawks and A Sunday on La Grande Jatte. Millennium Park: Snap a photo with “The Bean” (Cloud Gate) and enjoy nearby gardens and architecture. Navy Pier: Visit for scenic views of Lake Michigan, shops, and the Centennial Wheel. Skydeck Chicago: Experience the glass ledge at Willis Tower for incredible city views. Field Museum: Meet Sue, the world’s largest T. rex fossil, and explore natural history exhibits.

Enjoy the Outdoors

Grant Park: Known as “Chicago’s Front Yard,” a great spot for a morning walk or jog. Lakefront Trail: Rent a Divvy bike or walk along the 18-mile trail with views of Lake Michigan and several of Chicago’s beaches.

Pro Tips

Transportation: Use the "L" train system, buses, or rideshare services like Uber/Lyft. Parking in the city can be expensive and limited. Weather: Chicago weather can vary—check the forecast before your visit!
