We're getting married!

Our story began in the summer of 2018 dancing by Meridian Hill Park in the pouring rain and by evening’s end, I was entirely smitten. For our first official date, we drove to National Harbor for a class at Muse Paintbar (reconfirming that neither of us missed out on careers as artists). Once class ended, we headed to the MGM courtyard for a nightcap. We got a little more adventurous on our second date with a hike on Sugarloaf Mountain—a day full of firsts. It was Luna’s first-time meeting Matt, and it was the first time Matt had a date inadvertently wipe what appeared to be mud, but wasn’t, on him. He recoiled, we laughed, and Luna remained unphased by the unknown animal’s excrement on her. In the following months, we spent most of our spare time together exploring the region and experimenting in the kitchen. I learned that Matt will never tire of sports (of almost any kind) and Matt learned that one can never have too many blankets around the house. Cut to December 4th, 2020. We were due to spend the weekend with a few close friends in Richmond, VA and our first stop was a COVID-friendly stroll through Lewis Ginter Botanical Gardens. The grounds were beautiful, completely illuminated by Christmas lights. We wandered around, taking it all in until Matt found a secluded spot under a trellis that was filled with hanging lights when he got down on one knee and asked me to be his forever.
