We met outside of the Immaculata on a warm August afternoon in 2021. We became close friends until a fateful night at a Padres game, when our relationship fully blossomed! John Michael proposed to Maricruz at the Blue Bayou Restaurant, which overlooks the Pirates of the Caribbean ride at Disneyland with their closest friends, Carlos & Monica. The ring was inside of a chocolate treasure box that Maricruz broke open. The ring was John Michael's maternal grandmother's ring, Evangelina Leal Garcia. Maricruz answered "yes" and Carlos led the restaurant in cheers, while Monica yelled "that's my best friend!" Right afterwards, they started calling their family and friends. John Michael le propuso matrimonio a Maricruz en el restaurante Blue Bayou, con vista a Piratas del Caribe en Disneyland con sus amigos más cercanos, Carlos y Mónica. El anillo estaba dentro de una caja de chocolate en forma de tesoro que Maricruz abrió. El anillo era el anillo de la abuela materna de John Michael, Evangelina Leal García. Maricruz respondió "sí" y Carlos encabezó el restaurante entre porras, mientras Mónica gritaba "¡esa es mi mejor amiga!" Inmediatamente después, empezaron a llamar a sus familiares y amigos.
