Wedding Party

Rachel Janos

Maid of Honor

As sisters, Jess and I have always had a special bond. She's my biggest cheerleader, confidant and therapist all rolled into one. Winning over my approval is not easy, but upon meeting Jake I immediately knew he was going to play a special role in Jess’s life. Their chemistry is undeniable and I couldn’t have dreamt up someone better for my sister! I’m so excited to celebrate Jake and Jess on August 28th and we are lucky to be adding Jake into the family!

Dylan Abrams

Best Man

Jake and I met in our 4th grade Hebrew School class, but it wasn't until middle school that we truly became best friends (it took a few years of warming up to each other). When my family moved into the house 3 doors down from Jake's, it became clear that our lives would be forever entwined. Our friendship has since evolved into a lifelong brotherhood. From Cranston to Colorado and from Somerville to Switzerland, Jake and I have shared memories across the world. I am honored and filled with joy to be Jake's co-Best Man, and can't wait to share in the happiness of his wedding day.

Ashley Rectenwald

Matron of Honor

Even though Jess and I didn’t know each other going into freshman year at UMiami, that didn’t stop us from becoming inseparable ever since. From teaching me to drive stick shift on South Dixie highway, to being in each other’s weddings, we've been there for each other every step of the way.

Josh Feinberg

Best Man

Jake and I met on a beautiful August day back in 2012, freshman year at Clark University. We really didn't know anything about each other except for the fact that both of us were most likely Jewish and that neither of us (at least, at the time we thought) had social media. We were both quite nervous to see if we had some weirdo as a roommate... To my wonderful surprise, there I see, a handsome young Jewish boy, decorating his wall with Dave Matthews Band posters, some Jewish art from a trip he had brought with him from the March of the Living, and a broken arm. My grandma instantly fell in love knowing that I was going to be living with an equally nice Jewish boy, and I was head over heels knowing that this man was going to be my best friend.

Jess & I grew up together running around the streets of Maywood, NJ barefoot & bright eyed. She was my first ever best friend & our twin telepathy (as our 6th grade math teacher called it) has persisted ever since despite many different states & many miles between us. We lived down the street from one another & were always by each other’s sides- together from our awkward middle school phases until now. We’ve had so many adventures since & I am so lucky to stand by her side as she begins a new chapter of adventures with Jake by her side. I could never imagine a more true, steadfast, amazing, supportive best friend & I am so grateful everyday to have Jess in my life. I promise, I will always be there to kill the spiders for you.

Groomsman

Jake & I met as freshmen members of the Clark swim team back in 2012. We would study* in the library together all the time & then complain about swim practice & how much we hated our major & how audacious it was for Clark to be taking so much money from us. Then, on weekend nights, we would scream & laugh at each other in strangers' apartments like that's all we were made to do. We are now consummate professionals & still check in on each other to make sure we still hate Clark for taking all of our money. I would pay for it all again if I could. Wow, the difference a decade makes. Look at us now. Standing proud next to THE Jessica Janos. Who'd'a thunk?

Jess & I have been friends since we met at Hackensack High School. Since then we’ve been separated by many states & several hundred miles but wherever life took us, we’ve stayed so close & talked about important things or about absolutely nothing. When Jess first told me about Jake, I knew he was special. After I got to meet him, I knew they were a perfect match. Jake compliments Jess as perfectly as anyone could want for their friend. I couldn’t be more excited to be a part of this next chapter of their life!

Eddie McCluskey

Groomsman

The very first Clark student I met on a recruitment trip with the Clark swim team was Jake. I was immediately drawn to him & liked his goofy antics, & confirmed my enrollment knowing that I already had at least one friend at Clark. Even though we made some childish decisions (like sneaking whole pizzas & chocolate pies out of the cafeteria) we did a lot of growing up during our time at Clark. I was living with Jake when he fostered his very first dog & in those months I saw a dramatic change in Jake; he felt compelled to be a good dog owner & dedicated himself to that task. Whether he knew it or not, Jake has helped teach me the values of confidence & self-respect, & I wouldn't trade our friendship for the world. I am honored to spend his special day with him & Jess.

Bridesmaid

I was lucky enough to meet Jess because of my brother’s fabulous taste in a partner! From the first time meeting Jess, I knew there was such a special spark between them...we all just knew it was a forever kind of thing! Family parties and holidays are so much more fun knowing Jess will be there. And lucky for me, she also always gives the best and most supportive advice! I’m so lucky to call Jess the sister that I always wanted and can’t wait for Jake and her to make it official on August 28th!

Alex Kappel

Groomsman

Jake & I met at Clark University varsity swimming. We were a few years apart, but built a meaningful connection. Our friendship really took off when Jake found me a place to rent in Somerville, MA-- a few houses down from where Jake & Jess were living. I was processing a challenging breakup at the time & Jake was always there to support me in my time of need. Through our time as neighbors, Jake & I became brothers. Together we'd wake up at 5:30am to dive into Walden Pond for open water swimming before work, we'd spend endless hours walking our dogs around the city, & we curated a supportive community of friends on our street. Jake is a supportive friend & a community builder, & I'm always grateful to be a part of his circle.
