Our paths first crossed while we were obtaining our Occupational Therapy Degrees at Anoka Technical College. Little did we know, years later we would become soulmates and spend the rest of our lives together.
A little after we graduated, we planned to meet up at Lake Harriet. John’s phone died, he got lost and two hours later found Laura in a hammock at the Rose Gardens, patiently waiting with what he would later describe as the best hug he ever had! After a night of long boarding around the lake, climbing trees, watching the sunset and the devouring of a five-scoop ice cream cone, John’s tardiness was completely forgiven and the spark was forever lit!
After the spark was lit, there was more work to be done. We went our separate ways and were led back to each other shortly after. During that time apart, I learned how truly important it was to have a husband who could support me in my journey with God. As we got back together, I asked God many questions about John. God answered by demonstration of John’s true compassionate nature and ever-growing love for God through the people we encountered. As we stumbled from church to church, we finally landed at St. Bonaventure Catholic Church where our faith has taken on a life of its own. We continue to learn about God’s love and practice, sharing that love with each other daily and the community that surrounds us. ~ Laura Jayne 1 John 4:19 - { We love, because he first loved us }
