Josh and Keely met in 2018 when they were both working at Surfer the Bar in Jacksonville Beach, Florida. They became friends and in 2021 they became roommates. Keely asked Josh to be her boyfriend October 28, 2021. Josh proposed on August 10, 2022 under a waterfall at Twin Falls in Washington State after Keely returned from working on a boat in Alaska for 3 months.
