Once upon a time "a friend" asked another friend to dinner. Oblivious to JJ’s intentions, Trese invited other friends to join...(the more, the merrier) but little did she know, IT WAS A DATE! Her best friend QUICKLY declined the invite which left just two "friends" to enjoy a nice dinner at Tony's on Main Street followed by a nightcap at Dave and Busters. Platonic turned romantic rather instantaneously and the couple started dating 2 weeks later.
Early Friday afternoon, JJ called with some existing news, a promotion at work! We planned a date night at Mia Sorella as my treat =). After a 45 minute wait for a table, we had a great dinner with awesome service and delicious wine as usual. All was well until we started arguing over who would pay the bill. Why would he INSIST on paying at his own celebration dinner? Needless to say, JJ paid and we headed home (in what seemed like a hurry) to continue our date night. It’s tradition for us to open a bottle of wine and watch music videos together late into the evening, so logically, I change into my PJs, hit the lights and cuddle up in a blanket on the coach; i was ready to go…or so I thought. This is when things got WEIRD! JJ immediately flipped the lights back on and continued to get both of the dogs riled up. Was this really necessary? Even with them jumping all over me, I still wasn’t picking up the message. JJ at this point, is anxious as can be. And that’s when it happened…I saw the small wedding bands hanging from the dogs collars. Before I could ask “what is this?”, he was down on one knee asking me to marry him. To be precise, his exact words, “I THOUGHT YOU WOULD NEVER NOTICE, will you marry me?” It was intimate, thoughtful, magical. A job well done. But it didn’t end there! I was told to change back into my clothes so that we could head to a surprise celebration party down the street. When we arrived (an hour later than anticipated), the room was filled with all of our closest family and friends. A night to remember to say the least! Shoutout to Ellen and JT for their help throughout the night, planning and hosting.
