As some of you may know, Sarah and JJ met over five years ago thanks to the Tinder dating app. Though they're like several others in their generation to find each other by 'swiping right', the story of their first date is what separates them from the rest. One fateful Friday night, JJ asked Sarah to meet for dinner and drinks. However, after several changes to the plans (which we now know was due to JJ possibly having one too many bud lights), JJ asked Sarah to come over and watch the Celtics game with his friends at the house they were staying at for a ‘wedding thing’. As terrified as she was to meet all of JJ’s friends on a first date, let alone be walking into a wedding party, Sarah decided why the hell not. Immediately after pulling up to the River Club, Sarah was worried. She realized she had willingly driven to an empty parking lot in the woods…so naturally her mind started flashing images from Friday the 13th. But things quickly changed when JJ went right in for a hug once she stepped out of the car. Today we all have come to know and love JJ’s hugs, but at the time Sarah was not really the affectionate type….she’d like to think JJ has helped warm her up a bit these last few years. Once the niceties were out of the way, Sarah and JJ fell right in sync. Sarah met all his close friends (including the bride and groom…talk about intimidating), and the night was filled with plenty of card games, beers, and laughs…no Celtics game though, ironically enough. After that first date, Sarah and JJ pretty much spent all of their free time together (JJ’s schedule permitting). They found common ground in their obsession with movies (“Did we just become best friends? Yup!”), breweries, and taking weekend trips around New England. JJ fell in love with Falmouth after several summers spent with the Orleman family; and Sarah’s appreciation for Plymouth only grew after so many weekends spent with Savoia family and friends (looking at you Bob). Not long after JJ proposed last fall, Sarah and JJ adopted their lovable but crazy dog, Nyra, who they couldn’t be happier with. We are so excited to see what this next chapter will bring and can’t wait to celebrate with you all in May 2024! Cheers to the new Mr. & Mrs. Savoia!
