Our wedding will take place within a Catholic Mass, which means the ceremony will include readings from Scripture, prayers, a homily, the Rite of Marriage, and the celebration of the Eucharist. In the Catholic faith, marriage is a sacrament- a sacred covenant and visible sign of God's grace. We know that some of our family and friends may not be Catholic or may be unfamiliar with the Mass. Please know that you are warmly welcomed and encouraged to participate to the extent you feel comfortable. During Communion, only practicing Catholics in a state of grace receive the Eucharist. If you are not receiving Communion, you are welcome to remain seated or come forward with arms crossed over your chest to receive a blessing from the priest.
We’re happy to include your guest if we’re able, we just want to be sure we have an accurate count for seating and dinner. If your invitation didn’t mention a plus one, feel free to reach out and ask. We’d love to make it work if we can!
