JJ and Kim's story began 10 years ago when their mutual friends invited them out for a night on the town. They spent the evening exploring the east side of Milwaukee and laughing until early in the morning. The timing wasn't right for a relationship until almost exactly one year later when JJ started showing up at Kim's sand volleyball league. JJ jokes that he helped the team win the "pitcher race". They soon started spending more time together, with JJ pulling out all the stops! Kim didn't know it at the time, but JJ won big playing slots at the casino and didn't hesitate to use his winnings to woo her over. The two soon became inseparable and have enjoyed "sharing space" - JJ's pick up line!

There are many reasons to love Pi day - but JJ added one more with a proposal on 3/14/21. JJ took Kim to Doctors Park on the shores of Lake Michigan, where they had their first date. Kim was completely surprised, thinking they were going on a winter hike. JJ arranged a second surprise by having an engagement party where friends and family were ready to congratulate them. During COVIDish, it was in a clean garage on a balmy 40 degree day but the love in our hearts warmed us up.
