Hello guests! As the weeks have passed since sharing our engagement news and letting the cat out of the bag so to speak about our big day, we have received lots of questions and realized that the website doesn't display in the same manner on mobile devices as it does on computers! (Come on web designers...) If you are viewing this message from a phone or tablet, click the three lines in the upper left corner to view all menu options for the website. If you are viewing this on a computer or laptop, you should see the menu options displayed across the top of the page. If you are logging in to update your address, unfortunately, Zola does not allow that action from a mobile device. Either text Jennifer your correct contact information or try to log in from your computer. We are so sorry for the trouble! Cheers and look forward to seeing you all on August 8th! - Jeff & Jennifer 7/23/2020
We never imagined we'd have our wedding online, but such is the situation in the pandemic. In order to keep everyone safe and not spread COVID-19, we have opted to have a super small ceremony in our home in Merced. Since we want everyone to be part of our special day, we're including our family and friends by streaming the ceremony online via Zoom. Having family and friends scattered across the continent in multiple countries, having a Zoom wedding makes the most sense in these strange times! If you are reading this, you are cordially invited to attend our wedding! Be sure to click on the RSVP tab and accept or decline. We kindly ask that you update your contact information too.
We met for coffee at Peet's in San Mateo on August 11, 2017, after a brief encounter on the dating app Tinder. We sat outside for several hours talking about everything - including the single most important question, Star Trek or Star Wars? (The only correct answer is Star Wars, by the way). We set up our second date as we were driving home from Peet's. But by then we were already smitten. In the fall of 2017, we moved into an apartment in San Mateo with our three cats (Posey, Hannibal, and Clarice). Two more members of our little four-legged family joined us, Cosette the feline terrorist, and Luna the drama queen guinea pig. When Jenn had the opportunity to finish her bachelor's degree school at UC Merced, we moved in May 2019 to the Central Valley where we were able to spread out. Jenn will graduate from UC Merced in May 2021 with her bachelor's degree in history with a minor in psychology. We plan to stay in Merced until she completes her master's degree in 2022.
In June 2020, in the middle of the pandemic, we bought our former rental house and are preparing for the next great adventure in our lives. Our landlord approached us 7 weeks into the pandemic and made us an offer we couldn't refuse! We are making the most of sheltering in place, taking daily swims in our pool now that the weather is warm enough and tending to our pandemic garden of fresh tomatoes, corn, lettuce, peas, green beans, squash, and more! We love being able to grow our own fruits, vegetables, and herbs like basil and parsley.
