We met through our mutual friend, one of Brian's best friends, Sanghyun. We had our first interaction at a Korean karaoke and started a relationship after months of hanging out with Jiyoung's church people. We knew of each other prior to meeting because our older sisters were close friends. Jiyoung fell madly in love with Brian's innocent looks, and the rest was history.

We celebrated our engagement at a coffee shop in Roswell, GA in 2021 right before Brian started graduate school. Since Jiyoung meticulously tracks Brian's whereabouts, Brian had to be extra sneaky to rent out the cafe, decorate the place, and invite all our loved ones. Jiyoung thought she was hanging out with her friends, Esther and Nancy, but was pleasantly surprised by Brian's big head popping out of nowhere. The ring was carefully selected by Brian and was exactly what Jiyoung wanted.
