We recommend staying around a BTS (subway) station because the traffic in Bangkok can be overwhelming. The areas we recommend staying are Thonglor, Eakkamai and Esok. Around these areas, there are many nice restaurants, bars, and shopping. Must try taking a tuk tuk as well.

Fly into BKK (Bangkok International Airport) or HKT (Phuket International Airport)
We recommend flying into BKK (Bangkok) and experiencing a few days/nights in the city if time permits as well. You can find cheap RT flights from Bangkok to Phuket for under a $100.00.
