I am sure Niya has told everyone her version of the story, but I beg to differ on some of the details. I once went to Niya’s house 16 years ago circa 2003 in India but never met her during an unwelcome pitstop on my way to a fun filled day at Vega Land. She then visited my house in 2005, met my sister and saw a picture of me but we still never met because I was out watching a movie with my friends. Our paths finally crossed in 2007 when we encountered each other at church in Dallas. We became really good friends and each of us knew this was a friendship for the ages. Throughout the years, as we grew older, wiser and more mature, we started to get closer. Niya and I always remained good friends until around the summer of 2014 when we really started to look past the boundaries of the friendship. This girl was cute, dorky and a lot fun. She was also a very close friend of mine and knew all of my secrets and everything else about me. Something kept telling me not to let her get away a second time like I idiotically did 7 years earlier. I decided to put on the charm and see if there was more to her. The only thing that worried me was losing our friendship, but something told me she was the one. Everything else since then has been an upbeat blur but somehow, she took the bait, I hooked the line and the rest is my favorite summer love story of all time. Best almost 5 years of my life. Niya has made me a better person in all aspects of life and I definitely see that in myself. I honestly cannot wait to marry my best friend. Niya is the love of my life and we both can’t wait to have you be a part of one of the most important days of our lives. Now lets’ get this party started!

Now this is a story all about how my life got flipped and turned upside down and I'd like to take a minute, just sit right there, and I'll tell you how I went from 0 to 100 real quick. This love story originated on the other side of the world aka India in the year 2007. Yes, this is a story 12 years in the making. It began when I saw a picture of my cousin's (Jenin chettai’s) best friend. Just one look and I was head over heels. Too bad at the time I was living in India, so I pushed the thought of this guy to the back of my mind. However, I did know that I would be moving to Dallas that same year AND attending the same church as Jinu. Still, I tried to be as “practical” as I could be at the time and tried to forget about it. Fast forward a few months, and I had finally moved to Dallas and started to settle into my new life. I knew it was only a matter of time before I would be introduced to Jinu at church, so I patiently waited for Sunday to come. My first interaction with Jinu was enough for me to know that I was head over heels about this guy. In time, we started to become good friends and with that my feelings also grew tenfold. I don’t want to go into details, but to my dismay Jinu rejected my love a good number of times. Fast forward a couple of years, and guess who FINALLY started developing feelings for me? That’s right! Jinu started making moves, but this time I was the hesitant one. Of course he would try to date me at a time when all I wanted to do was be single and live my best life. With a lot of persuasion from my best friend Nissy, and my FAMILY (Nimmy chettai, mostly) I decided to give my 14 year old love story another shot. Lo and behold, 5 years later we’re still very much in love and ABOUT TO GET MARRIED! If I had to go back in time and tell my 14 year old love drunk self to be patient, she would have thought I was crazy. But I guess, never say never? =]
