March 6, 2021 after chatting for a few days on Bumble, we decided to meet up for coffee and scooters in Fountain Square . We met at Milktooth for some delicious coffee. We then found a pair of electric scooters to rent. We took off to further explore the neighborhood. This was a lot of fun! During our first date, we made plans for a second date which ended up being watching Tom and Jerry at the theatre. Our third date was a worship night at Emmanuel Church. All three were in the same week! Both of us were sure we wanted to date... the rest is history!
Jincy's experience: I was 100% sure Travis was going to propose in Mexico. He's a romantic romeo type and I knew he would do something HUGE - which he did. After a long walk on the beach to enjoy stars and fresh air, we walked over to a huge white gazebo. I walked around the corner to find Travis waiting for me on a bench. He asked if he could read me something so I sat down. He read me “Wherever You Are: My Love Will Find You” - a Children’s book. The ring was tucked into a little hole he carved out and fell out as he got to the end. After he picked it up, he got down on one knee & asked me a really life-altering question and I SAID YES. Then we got to dance to our song under the stars and have champagne and have our friends bless our future together. What a dream of a day and start to a lifetime! Travis's experience: Finding a way to surprise Jincy is a challenge. Almost everyone that I could think of that could be there for the proposal she has on Find My Friends. So if I got everyone together in one place for a surprise, she would know. My challenge was to create a special moment but keep it a surprise. We had a trip to Mexico coming up to see our friends Eddie and Maggie Mathews. I contacted them ahead of time to help scout a location. They found a beautiful restaurant outside Playa del Carmen with dolphins swimming nearby. The plan was to take Jincy to dinner, walk under the stars to the beach, and propose. We did just that, but I decided not to propose on the beach. There was a gorgeous gazebo nearby and since Jincy loves gazebos. There I was waiting with a book titled "Wherever you are, my love will find you." After the proposal, Eddie and Maggie surprised us with champagne and our first dance as an engaged couple!
Our wedding mission statement is to profess our love and commitment to one another in the presence of our community, family, and friends. We are excited to celebrate our marriage and the joy of two people becoming one. Matthew 19:6 “So they are no longer two, but one. Therefore what God has joined together, let man not separate.”
